The battery will generate heat during charging and discharging, the temperature of electrolyte should be controlled not to exceed 43 degrees Celsius (110 degrees Fahrenheit). Excessive temperatures will accelerate the deterioration of the battery and shorten its service life. Periodically test the battery with a battery test kit or volt meter and record the results in detail. The specific gravity and voltage of each cell should be tested and recorded monthly to facilitate tracking and understanding of the battery's condition.
Battery surface should be kept clean and dry to prevent corrosion and current leakage. The terminals, wires, caps and other parts of the battery should be checked regularly to ensure that they are connected tightly and free of corrosion. Regularly check the concentration and liquid level of electrolyte and replenish distilled water in time to maintain the normal concentration and liquid level of electrolyte. At the same time, pay attention to the leakage of electrolyte, once found should be dealt with immediately.
Forklift batteries are rechargeable batteries and need to be charged regularly to maintain sufficient power. It is generally recommended to charge when the power drops to about 80%, and the charging time is usually 8-10 hours. Overuse or overcharging will cause damage to the battery. Avoid dropping the battery to too low a level, and avoid overcharging to prevent electrolyte overflow or battery explosion.
Lithium iron phosphate battery has a longer cycle life and more charging times, which can meet the long-time operation requirements of forklift trucks. According to relevant data, after 1600 cycles of lithium iron phosphate battery, the service life of the battery can still reach about 80% of the original. This feature makes the lithium iron phosphate forklift battery have a longer service life and reduces the cost and frequency of battery replacement.
