Nitronic 60 Austenitic stainless Steel

Nitronic 60 is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with excellent mechanical strength (more than twice that of 316) and excellent corrosion resistance.

Originally designed for use at high temperatures (up to 1800°F), Nitronic 60 is a wear-resistant alloy with excellent wear resistance at both high and ambient temperatures, making it ideal for any application where wear or sticking is a concern. The material represents a cost-effective solution to the effects of wear and tear.

The addition of silicon and manganese during the alloying process gives the product abrasion/wear resistance even under annealed conditions. Hardness in the annealed state is very good - similar materials require additional heat treatment to compete with Nitronic 60 in the annealed state.

Used for fasteners

Fasteners produced using Nitronic 60 are capable of repeated assembly and removal before threads wear or tear. Due to the excellent corrosion resistance of the alloy, the fasteners are also resistant to corrosion.
