The circulating system composed of a gas turbine and a flue gas turbine further drives the flue gas turbine to generate electricity by utilizing the remaining pressure and enthalpy in the flue gas emitted by the gas turbine. Compared with the gas steam combined cycle system, this system does not require water at all, but the cost of the flue gas turbine is relatively high and has not yet been widely used.
The four processes of heating, adiabatic expansion, and isobaric heat release are completed respectively in the compressor chamber, combustion chamber, gas turbine, and regenerator or in the atmosphere. The compressor of a large gas turbine is a multi-stage axial flow type, while the small and medium-sized ones are centrifugal. Gas turbines are generally axial flow type, and in small units, centripetal type is useful. A gas turbine drives the compressor and generator. The single unit capacity of gas turbine units is about 10-20kW, and the maximum capacity has reached 140MW. The thermal efficiency ranges from 30% to 34%, with a maximum of 38%. There are two types of gas turbine structures: heavy and light, with the latter mainly modified by aviation engines. Due to its small size, light weight, fast start-up, fast installation, low or no water usage, it can use various liquid and gas fuels, and is often used for peak shaving in power generation. In addition, gas turbines are also widely used in fields such as oil and gas extraction and transportation, transportation, metallurgy, chemical engineering, and shipbuilding.
