Compared with independent control emergency lighting fixtures with built-in power supply, centralized control emergency lighting fixtures with centralized power supply have advantages such as easy centralized management, user self inspection, fire supervision and inspection, extended lamp life, and improved emergency evacuation efficiency. The system has good reliability, long service life, convenient maintenance and management, and low system price. However, centralized power supply and centralized control emergency lighting fixtures do not have a backup power supply (battery) inside each emergency lighting fixture. If the power supply line fails, it will directly affect the normal operation of the emergency lighting system. Therefore, there are special fire protection requirements for the laying of its power supply line. And the independent control emergency lighting fixtures with their own power supply have no special requirements for the power supply line because each emergency lighting fixture is equipped with a backup power supply (battery), and the failure of the power supply line will not affect the function of the backup power supply. When an emergency light fails, it usually only affects the light itself and has little impact on the entire system.
In actual construction projects, the selection of emergency lighting power supply should be based on the number of floors, scale, complexity, number of people staying and moving inside the building, production and usage characteristics inside the building, degree of fire danger and importance of the building, as well as the setting of other emergency power sources. Comprehensive consideration and technical and economic analysis should be conducted to select the optimal emergency lighting power supply.
