What is a dry bulk container?

Dry bulk container refers to a container mainly used for transporting solid granular and powdery goods without packaging. When loading, bulk cargo is poured into the container from the top loading port, and unloading can be done by suction from the loading port or by cooperating with an automatic dump truck to tilt and lift the container, and the cargo flows out from the rear door. This is a commonly used unloading method.

Structural Features

(1) The top of the container features three loading ports with a diameter of 500mm, which can be fully sealed after loading.

(2) The inner walls of the container are lined with a single piece of waterproof plywood. To ease the removal of loose cargo and facilitate cleaning after use, the plywood is coated with fiberglass.

(3) Typically, a canvas funnel is positioned on the inner side of the rear door frame. Depending on the model, some dry bulk containers feature a discharge port directly on the rear door. Unloading is accomplished by tilting the container with an automatic dump truck, ensuring safe discharge of the goods through the designated port.

(4) When loading general cargo into a dry bulk container, the canvas funnel can be removed, folded, and stored in a designated spot on the top interior of the container.

(5) The side walls require reinforcement due to bulging during the loading of bulk cargo.

(6) Certain models feature specialized attachments on the loading port cover for fumigation during plant quarantine.
