It is mainly used as a scale inhibitor for low-pressure boilers, industrial circulating cooling water systems, flash seawater desalination, and can also serve as a main component of advanced cleaning agents, and as a rinse agent for textiles to reduce the ash content in textiles. HPMA still exhibits good scale inhibition and dispersion effects on carbonates below 300°C, with a scale inhibition duration of up to 100 hours. Due to its excellent scale inhibition and high-temperature resistance, HPMA is widely used in flash evaporation devices for seawater desalination as well as in low-pressure boilers, steam locomotives, and industrial circulating cooling water. Additionally, HPMA has a certain corrosion inhibiting effect, and its compound effect with zinc salt is better, effectively preventing the corrosion of carbon steel.
