The rotary evaporator increases the evaporation area and improves evaporation efficiency by rotating, while using a vacuum system to reduce system pressure and minimize energy loss. Modern rotary evaporators are usually equipped with functions such as digital control of vacuum pumps and digital display of heating temperatures, making operation more convenient and efficient. Rotary evaporators are widely used in fields such as chemistry, chemical engineering, and biomedicine, and can be used for recovering, evaporating organic solvents, and concentrating liquid samples.
The rotary evaporator heats the solvent to boiling state through a heater. The evaporator bottle rotates above the heater to evenly heat the solvent during the evaporation process and help improve the evaporation efficiency. Rotation also causes the liquid sample to form a liquid film on the inner surface of the evaporation bottle, increasing the heating area. Under the combined action of heating and rotation, the solvent gradually evaporates to form steam. The steam is cooled by a condenser and re condensed into liquid, which is collected in a collection bottle. The vacuum pump extracts the air from the system, reduces the system pressure, and further improves the evaporation efficiency.
