According to GB276086, it can be used as a food emulsifier; Also used in cosmetic and the textile industry etc., and usually associated with the use of Tween-60.

Ivory color dandifying liquid. Slightly brings the bitter taste, dissolves in the water, the aniline, the ethyl acetate and the toluene, does not dissolve    to the mineral oil and the vegetable oil. Has moist, frothing and so on spreading, is the  O/W emulsifier, the HLB value 14.9.
