food additivesGlyceryl monostearate (GMS) is a multifunctional food additive primarily used as an emulsifier, thickener, and quality improver. It imparts a smooth texture to products such as ice cream and cream, and in baked goods, it improves internal structure, increases volume, and delays aging, thus effectively extending shelf life. Its high-purity forms (such as molecular distillation products) are safe and efficient, making it an ideal emulsifier for producing stable pastes.
Materials industryIn the plastics industry, GMS is commonly used as an antistatic agent and anti-fogging agent, especially in food packaging materials. Furthermore, it provides excellent internal lubrication during resin processing, helping to improve extrusion efficiency and enhance the gloss of the finished product surface.
